Thos Watkin Copner The Judge Ordinary having taken the Oral Evidence of the Petitioner and the Witnesses produced on her behalf in support of the Petition filed in this Cause, and having heard Counsel thereon, the Respondent appearing and defending the Suit adjourned the case for further evidence signed David Henry Owen. 18 March 1874 The Judge Ordinary having taken further evidence pronounced that the Petitioner had sufficiently proved the contents of the said Petition, and decreed that the marriage, had and solemnized on the 5th day of December 1863 at the Church of St Silas in the Parish of Liverpool in the County of Lancaster between Mary Copner, then Gemmell Spinster the Petitioner, and Thomas Watkin Copner the Respondent, be dissolved by reason of Adultery coupled with Cruelty towards the Petitioner committed by the Respondent since the Celebration of the said Marriage unless sufficient cause be shown to the Court why this Decree should not be made absolute within Six Months from the making thereof, and condemned the said Respondent, in the costs incurred, and to be incurred on behalf of the said Petitioner in this Cause.
