The will of this John Tanner, gentleman of Letty Cefn Llydan, Tregynon, Wales, dated 19 Apr 1778 (probated 14 Oct 1778), mentions wife Elizabeth, eldest son (noted as minor in probate), and other children; wit. George Hudson, Lewis Owen, Morgan Richards (Clerk). The will of assumed father-in-law Caleb Tanner, yeoman of Vaynor Icha, Berriew, Wales, dated 5 Nov 1763 (probated 1764), mentions dau Elizabeth (wife of John Tanner of Tregynon, with children).

WILL: The Last Will and Testament of John Tanner Gent, Dec'd proved the 14th October 1778. In the name of God Amen I John Tanner of Llethycefn Llydan in the Parish of Tregynon and County of Montgomery Gentleman being of sound mind memory and understanding I Praise therefore be given to Almighty God do hereby make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following viz First I charge all my real and personnel Estate with the payment of all my Debts Legacies and funeral expenses I give and devise my said real Estate to my beloved wife Elizabeth exclusive of any benefit or Advantage to my eldest son but what she may think proper will he arrived at the age of thirty years Rents and Profits accuing from my said Real Estate to be applied to the nourishment education and maintenance of my younger children Also I give and bequeath to all my other Children the sum of Forty Pounds a piece to be paid them respectively by my oldest son out of my said real Estate as above charged And I do nominate and appoint my said wife and my said eldest son joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have to same set my hand and seal this 19th Day of April 1778.
